Peaches and Paprika Hiss for Halloween

Hello, Peaches here for a special Meowleen appearance.  Paprika has joined me,  You will note, however that I, Peaches got in the last HISS!

We cats are truly being honored this month.  did you know that cats were formerly considered ROYALTY.  They have never forgotten this....and as you'll see THESE cats know all about it!

Now as for US, we prefer to quietly wait out the week....for our human's favorite day, Meowleen.

Emergency! We're Being Relocated - AGAIN! - Part 1

Peaches here.

I had a strange feeling "something" was up....

First I saw...'THE BOXES!

Wait a minute... haven't I seen Boxes before?  Seeing this many is NOT a good sign....

Upon closer scrutiny, I found MORE ominous signs...

That's Paprika's minature gray sofa atop the boxes.  Why is it up there?

Paprika:  What is going ON? Why is clothing being put into plastic containers on MY bed?

Peaches:  We are Senior Cats now.  Tell us it isn't true!

Relocation is NOT a cat-friendly senior activity!  We demand an

 explanation!

SUDDENLY...

We found outselves IMPRISONED!! In cages! Without our purrr=mission!!! 

The Unauthorized Car Trip

And then...the unthinkable happened.  The most dreaded event of many cats' lives..."THE CAR TRIP" ... Mysterious thumps and bumps to be endured. We sang the song of our people during the journey..but no one sung BACK!

that's me, Peaches, peeking out in the blue carrier...Scaredy cat Paprika (orange carrier) could not bear to look.

But When our human later opened the door...only ONE out of 2 cats emerged...(note empty orange carrier, no other cat in sight!)

WHERE IS PAPRIKA?

Mom Carol looked everywhere.  She kept asking ME where Paprika was. As if I knew. Is it MY job to keep tabs on everyone? and I was too busy  YOWLING at the unfamiliar scenes and smells I was encountering...

Oh THERE You Are, Paprika....!

By Mom Carol: Just when I was about to "lose it" and become totally frantic & call the police !) I saw a dark ear and fur in BACK of their rather tall litter box...
 IT WAS PAPRIKA! I reached behind the gray litter box to coax her out...poor easily-scared Paprika was TREMBLING!

Paprika: Well I thought it might be like that other time where we were  LOCKED UP & stayed there for weeks, caught colds & almost didn't make it. But now I see our human...I'll try to stop shaking!

Peaches: I was busy finding my own place to hide. Our human was so blanketyblank busy comforting scaredy cat Paprika that she hardly noticed ME!~ A pair of jeans will do for now...

OUR PLACES OF RESIDENCE THE NEXT TWO DAYS:

Our human thought she was  smart preventing us from going under the bed ...look at the BOXES she lined up ...however, we hid ALMOST under the bed ANYWAY.

We finally ALMOST recovered, Paprika had even begun hi wire explorations which as a senior cat she has not attempted for at least 5 years....

WHEN SUDDENLY ANOTHER SURPRISE OCCURRED....

FIRE EVACULATION...

YUP, Everyone had to get out of the building...

even us cats...back into the carriers we went though this time, the loud clanging fire alert gave us some idea of the plight and we tried to cooperate...

We Met All the Building Residents!

Finally the fire event was over and we could go back to our rooms...our human stayed with us ALL the time like a good cat mom we have to admit....

NOT our idea of a good time, nonetheless. Here we are in the building lobby...admired by many of course! (people pointed at us and said "what are those?)"

Finally we returned to our new digs....

I, Peaches had many things to say...Paprika too.

But WHY? I asked - Peaches the cat

Outside the living room window were sounds and sites we had never even seen up close before!

I got her first so hopefully Paprika won't bother me....

Paprika here.  I'm going to LIVE on t his window sill ALL Day!

Its a lot better than Route 1 and cars!!!   We saw a rabbit just now~

In fact we were so rev'd up after seeing and hearing all those little animals we made a nose dive for our toys, much to the SHOCK of our human!  At 16, we abandoned them for years.

MOST SURPRISINGLY, We agreed to SHARE A BED AGAIN!  (Even without our human to divide us!

Mom Carol DID put a Divider There!  We NEED that for territorial reasons!

After all there was VERY little furniture in the Living Room! (Temporarily) 

While in the Living Room and NOT window-ing or paying, our hang outs were modest indeed!

Peaches Steals Clam Chowder and More!

Peaches here.  I regret to inform you I have been accused of committing a crime. WATER THEFT!!!! (Caught in the act!)

MOM CAROL'S CASE:  I have given Peaches FIVE bowls of her OWN water.  What' up with drinnking mine????   At nearly 16 year old, she has NEVER done this...but PAPRIKA Has!

PEACHES' CASE:  Well I have always stuck to social protocol...but that soundrel PAPRIKA has been drinking from MY waterbowl (ILLEGALLY) when she has several of her own. ThiS here is MY desk perch,  And look what happens! REGULARLY! I made it clear I want nothing to do with this!

Paprika in Action:

PAPRIKA'S CASE: 

"IT'S A FREE COUNTRY!"  Peaches water happens to taste BETTER than mine (for some reason). Plus, I like the thrill of the THEFT!  I am essentially innocent. Look into my innocent eyes...

MOM CAROL:  And that's not the WORST of it.

After sticking a paw into MY DRINK, she THEN proceeded to stick the same paw into my lunch -

CLAM CHOWDER!  I was TOO SHOCKED to take a picture.  At age 16, she has never stuck a paw into anything like that.  Though I  couldn't catch her in the clam chowder theft act on camera, I did manage to document her water crime:

PEACHES: I have evidence of where I learned this trick.  Just look at the scene Mom Carol caught on videotape last week.  I rest my case, (note: video of Paprika's crime)

OUTSIDER'S COMMENT about these two crime scenes, ESPECIALLY Peaches new Paw into Owners food and Drink behavior: ... sudden descent into chowder piracy at age sixteen. If Paprika had done it, you’d almost expect it. But Peaches doing it has the energy of a retired school principal suddenly shoplifting shrimp cocktail.

PEACHES:  It's about time I started observing and copying my sis-fur Paprika's little tricks. Even though I'll be 16 soon.  I like to keep the humans guessing...

Good morning all! We want to wish you a VERY happy Barbershop Quartet Day (even though. summer is not Quite here)... AND to introduce two new members of our Fearsome Foursome. There's Us of course, Tom, one of our Many boyfriends and another fine feline known to all of us and named Noelle - who serves as receptionist to one of our fine fellow bloggers Sharon S! May all of you have a blissfully singing day.... for only too soon comes "the Good Ole Summertime...."

National Crayon Day Celebration

 

Friends of Peaches and Paprika have a blast celebrating NATIONAL CRAYON DAY! Our human found some CAT-SAFE Crayons, invited the neighborhood cats AND our friends and a party took place!  (see short vid below! has music!)

Cats Can Serve as Purr-fect "Morning Heaters"

Good morning, Paprika here.  One valuable service we provide is FREE HEATING SERVICES in the cold early mornings. I, Paprika spend the night in this room, but come 5am, Peaches creeps in on the RIGHT side and helps warm the human.

Besides fulfilling our job as "heaters" (we "lie" on both the left arm and the right arm) - brilliant move to warm AND trap human!

The morning visitation, of course, is not without SOME drama amongst us Sisters.

Mom Carol:  Despite declaring a "truce" and occupying the same bed at the same time, there is trouble in paradise. From my vantage point I notice the slightly tilted ears...they're on "HIGH ALERT"

Peaches here.  My sister Paprika has occupied the bed all night.  This "morning heating" time should be mine.  Yet...she's still HERE!

Paprika:  The answer to Peaches' question is really easy!

I decided to plead my case to my human! I DO have a case.

Whiskers! Turned down...again! - Peaches the cat.

We returned peacefully to the task of HEATING THE BED and the human. You can't win 'em all!  The important thing is...we kept her REALLY WARM on a cold day. -- Peaches the Cat
