Happy National Bathtub Party Day

Happy Naitonal Bath Tub Party Day!  Now we, as cats, are usually cautious about anything WATER-related but we HAVE purr-suaded all our cousins, aunts and uncle tiger-calicos to give it a try.  They are very inventive, finding a way to get in the tub without getting wet.  Hats off to our courageous feline relatives. As for us, we're staying dry today.

But click on the video below!

We thought it would suffice for now to have our relatives cooperate but NOoooo, our unstoppable had to go and ask our brave models to go a step further.  She suggested a water fight!  (see video above...we think it's out-rageous.)

We may just join our friends at the Creative Caturday Cat Hop, hosted by our friends, Athena and Marie.

Cebrating Faux Fur Friday 2025 - in Style!

We have always believed in Faux Fur Friday...because there's so little we have to do to prepare!  Why all we have to do is parade around in our REAL FUR...Whadaya think...am I the "real thing?" -- Peaches the cat

Our human, demonstrating the "faux fur" look thinks she can look like US just by wearing the right kind of sweater.  Lots of Luck with THAT idea human!
But our human DOES go to alot of trouble celebrating this day!  Just look at the zebra throw she got for us!
FAUX FUR DAY made its debut in 1929. Initially made from alpaca wool, faux fur increased in quality as synthetic fibers became available. The fibers not only allowed for more variety and texture, but they also provided warmth. Designers use it as an accent on clothing. They also create decor and entire ensembles. Faux fur comes in every color imaginable, too.

HOW TO OBSERVE #FauxFurFriday

Throw a faux fur style show or shop for a faux fur deal. Wrap yourself in a soft, furry throw or poncho. Add some faux fur to a denim jacket
As you can see, I am getting in the spirit by a demo with our human Carol's tiger-striped hat.  Her intentions are good. Here is a better picture of the hat in question.  As you can see this hat and I are very good friends!   I prefer in fact to think of it as "my hat." However my sister, Paprika seems to think she got a raw deal, due to the fact she was given a LEOPARD blanket.  Paprika is SO picky.  As far as I, Peaches am concerned, it's all good!  BTW that tiger hat I spoke of is in hot demand.
I, Paprika, have rights to this hat, too! I use it whenever I see it.  I'm not crazy like Peaches tho.  She WEARS it!

Peaches here, back again!  I wish to prove I'm not picky about whether the "faux fur" is leopard or tiger.  As you see, I am purr-fectly content on the leopard throw which Mom Carol gave us, evidenced by the fact, I'm kicking up my heels, er snow white boots!    Happy Faux Fur Day to all, and remembr if you ar "without faux fur" in your house, you always have your own fur-ball to pet!

Cat's Black Fur-day, er, Friday

We have always said that cats are the BEST sleuthing ex-puurrrrts at "sniffing" out a DEAL!

You will see below how "Greedy Peaches"  overloaded a shopping cart. I confess I pushed the cart as we both tried to  SNEAK out of the store without remitting human currency.

We maintain our mere presence should be payment enough!

Happy Thanksgiving to our Furrriends!

Sending you heart-felt wishes that. you spend a wonderful holiday with those you love - furry or human!

Love, Peaches & Paprika

PS Complaint!  Mom Carol gave me a hard time this morning because of my ungraceful posture.  She accused me of trying to imitate a TURKEY.  "That was the IDEA..." I told her.

Signed, Peaches the Cat

Another plan for today:  Paprika talked me into a little adventure so we could share the fun.  I'm a little nervous about it.  What do YOU think?  Can we get away with it?

Love, Peaches the Cat. (Happy T-Day, we'll let you know if it worked!)

On the Night before Thanksgiving

Peaches here!   On the night before Thanksgiving suddenly a warm object appeared in the Kitchen....we knew instinctively was for US!

Usually we like SMALL birds...but we COULD make an exception...

Paprika and I had a quiet but earnest conversation...it was determined we should proceed....

Our We Thanskgiving portraits over the years!

Our human decided to show   a few of our favorite THANKSGIVING PORTRAITS OVER THE YEARS.  Of course I think MINE were the best, but my sis-fur Paprika is a close contender!  Wishing all our friends a happy thanksgiving week with friends, family fur-babies or all three!

and my sis-fur Paprika insisting on horning in!

ON Second thought, I should let her into the picture! One year, we were forced to cook our own pie!  Naturaly we put the "purr-fect" ingredient in it!

Wishing all a WONDERFUL weekend, week and holiday! (this is our favorite portrait of all!)

Happy National Button Day!

HAPPY NATIONAL BUTTON DAY to all our friends!  Did you know that this is a National Holiday? National Button Day is celebrated annually on November 16th to honor buttons and the hobby of collecting them. The holiday was founded by the National Button Society in 1938 to recognize button collecting as an organized hobby. You can find out more about Button Day Here!  As for us, we believe in celebrating ALL fun holidays as long as we can strut our stuff, look cute & don't have to wear "real" costumes!

A Cat Holiday Mug in My Likeness - By Peaches the Cat

Hola...my human decided to make CAT MUGS for others in her Etsy shop, so guess who was her First Model...ME!

At first I thought it was all about "ME" and that this was a present.  Turns out, I was a "guinea pig" ("cat?") for mugs she intended to make for others!   I DID think such an effort was definitely worth my explorations...

So I took a good long look at the "device. After all such items MUST pass my "INspection."  I checked every detail, if she was going to "sell" these things to. "others."
It then occurred to me, there might be a wonderful treat inside.  Well, you never know...Much to my human's disapproval, I poked my nose right into the mug to "cat-vestigate..."

Well, much to my disappointment, I found nothing inside of culinary value!  Nevertheless, I put my "seal of approval" on the item...after all, it WAS a flattering likeness...

My human insisted I show you mugs of "other cats" she's making...now THIS I do not approve of.

Myself and Paprika should be her only cats of interest don't. you agree?

Autumn Bliss Caturday

We absolutely LOVE the crisp season of fall.  Why?  We love to look out the window and watch those colorful LEAVES floating around in crazy patterns.  At first we thought they were birds.  But with the advent of years we realize they are now just beautiful little things to watch and enjoy...we can't EAT them!

Orange, Yellow, Red, Brown....Do YOU like watching the leaves drift by?

Love, Peaches and Paprika

More Cat Artist Winners from Fine Art America Contests

HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone!  Our human, Mom Carol has a real treat in store for you!  She figures you have gotten tired of looking at US all the time, so she has lined up an incredibly diversified cast of WINNERs from our second cat artist contest on her online group, FINE ART AMERICA.

This contest was judged by four arts group leaders and the winners were a consensus of all!

Without further ado, here are the talented CAT HALLOWEEN ARTISTS & their Creations!

A Halloween Scene
1st Place: Cindy Leapart's Creation "A Halloween Scene" is a whimsical creation of an elegant furball who would be a bat!  There he/she is, all dressed up like the bats outside the window.  They may be beckoning him but he does not look sure about it all!

Halloween Scene With Kitten
Our 2ND prize winner is Jon Fennel's endearing creation entitled "Halloween Scene with Kitten."

Well to tell the truth THIS kitten doesn't look like any kitten WE've ever seen and we want to know how she balances that Looong hat.  But she did win the hearts of many and who can resist a kitten anyway?  I say, we grown up cats don't stand a chance! Note the decorative fall background surrounding this little cutie,....

3rd Place winner is Leann Piermont Camut's creation, "The Cat Coven."   Now this is one scary scene.  Are those cats REALLY witches?  They sure look like they know what they're doing.  We've often played around at being witches, but this crowd looks SERIOUS.  We hope they don't have OUR address!

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Just the Cat in the Hat
We bet you'll like these next four creations  too.  There are four of them who tied for honorable mention. 1) Angela Davies hero, "Just The Cat In the Hat," is apparently an executive cat who has been put in charge of 3 pumpkins. Great job guarding them!

2) Barron Holland's "Black Cat on Halloween Pumpkin is a quite inventive scene!  A dramatic black cat in the well known "arched  back" posture is performing in front of a group of awestruck humans playing a ferocious, apparently hissing spooky cat and performing a pawesome rendition of a traditional halloween felineHis electrified audience is obviously impressed!  OR...he might REALLY be serious!

#3: Our next striking cat artist and creation is Epta Gupta and her utterly charming "Vincent Van Cat."  We think his multiple colors, fashionable halloween apparel, pumpkin cone hat and riveting background make him a MOST impressive charmer.
He is bound to impress the ladies in any season!

Our last #4 honorable mention Cat is meant to scare us all a bit, he's Newel Hunter's #4  creation called "SPOOKED."   We ask you:  could you look into those orange eyes and NOT be scared?   Because of this last cat we may not sleep as well as usual tonight and its all our human's fault. We told her we could supply her with many pictures of US, but NOooo, she likes variety!

Hopefully you've had a good time looking at these amazing creative creatures by other cat artists, all in a different style.  However, we DO think it's appropriate to close with a Meow-leen picture of US! Don't you agree? Being little vampires is our choice this year!  Love, Peaches & Paprika

Cat Artist Contest Winners (Fine Art America) - Part 1

Every year our human holds a HALLOWEEN CAT CONTEST in a group she curates on the Fine Art america site.  We don't agree with her performing this activity as it takes time takes time away from US but she is in charge so we have to relinquish the spotlight gracefullly!

The FIRST PLACE WINNER, voted on by hundreds of Fine Art America members and visitors was (da dum) Earl Simmin's watercolor painting entitled "COZY KITTEN," the sweetest little gray ball of fur you could find anywhere.  (you have to admit, this kitten looks cozy indeed! Congrats to Earl!

Cat Dracula
Our next winner is Artist Sue Goldberg's ferocious halloween creation called CAT DRACULA!  We have to admit, Cat Dracula IS a little scary (well, very scary, and we plan to stay away from her/him!

We hope you have enjoyed looking at our talented guest artist winners - they sure won the hearts of many!  Tomorrow we'll return with more guest artists.  (but don't worry, we won't be away for long!

Respectfully submitted,

Peaches and Paprika
