Cats Can Serve as Purr-fect "Morning Heaters"

Good morning, Paprika here.  One valuable service we provide is FREE HEATING SERVICES in the cold early mornings. I, Paprika spend the night in this room, but come 5am, Peaches creeps in on the RIGHT side and helps warm the human.
Besides fulfilling our job as "heaters" (we "lie" on both the left arm and the right arm) - brilliant move to warm AND trap human!

The morning visitation, of course, is not without SOME drama amongst us Sisters.

Mom Carol:  Despite declaring a "truce" and occupying the same bed at the same time, there is trouble in paradise. From my vantage point I notice the slightly tilted ears...they're on "HIGH ALERT"

Peaches here.  My sister Paprika has occupied the bed all night.  This "morning heating" time should be mine.  Yet...she's still HERE!
Paprika:  The answer to Peaches' question is really easy!

I decided to plead my case to my human! I DO have a case.

Whiskers! Turned down...again! - Peaches the cat.

We returned peacefully to the task of HEATING THE BED and the human. You can't win 'em all!  The important thing is...we kept her REALLY WARM on a cold day. -- Peaches the Cat

St. Catrick Kitty Contest Winners - from Fine Art America Gallery

Our human insists on gallivanting around going to other places and looking for OTHER CATS to feature.  Well we had nothing to say about it but she curates a CREATIVE CAT GROUP on Fine Art America Gallery, and holds contests form time to time.  She thinks the winners are really cool cats and wanted to feature them.  (Of course, WE had nothing to say about it).  She thinks you might enjoy a little variety on this blog and as Caturday Art Lovers, why not?  So here were our talented winners!

1st place Winner

Cat With Top Hat And Shamrocks

Irina Shamaeva lives in California and creates wonderful whimsical art!

Here's a link to her work:

Os-Kat Award Winners for Cattitude

It's a traditional on our Facebook page, now Peaches and Paprika group that in conjunction with the OSCARS, we hold the yearly OS-KAT awards.  We've had many exciting winners in the past, and this year's final contenders are just, well FULL of that cattitude we treasure.

But FIRST I want to post MY picture because of course I, Peaches should have won.  Wouldn't that have been the right thing to do?  But NO, my human said I had to make way for "other cats."

Having said my piece, here are the "real" winners this year!

FIRST PLACE

The entrancing "Miss Scribbles," a well known "star" "ran off" with the prize this year.  No one could resist her sly look while clinging to her magic yellow banana.

SECOND PLACE

Another "high contender" was newcomer, "Willow" a round, orange cat who WE thought was too sweet to display ANY cattitude...our readers however did not agree. It's possible the sweet look could be deceiving.

THIRD PLACE
Our third place winner, the entertaining "Leo" is looking smug, as he's just "stolen" prime real estate from his housemate Tony, who just moments before was occupying this luxurious cat tree.
Leo is known for his outrageous and creative activities.

One other feline who was a close contender was the gorgeous "Purdee," an adventurous fellow calico we know well. She has pefected the "Cattitude Stare: and dares anyone to knock her off her perch on a dining room chair.  (Go, Purdee!)

Paprika's thoughts: Now, I, Paprika, entered the awards because I thought I deserved one, but sadly, there was no "acrobatic award this year.  Unfair to agile, nimble cats like me, don't you agree?

FROM THE OS-KAT ARCHIVES...
Previous years winners always inspire a nostalgia trip...here are a couple...

Well, not everyone can win these things, but -- AGAIN! -- here is what I, Peaches, think should have been the outcome!

Of course as my human frequently points out, I cannot always get what I want...I disagree. What do YOU think?

Hope all enjoyed the Oscars this year...a bright light in the middle of a complicated time....

Girl Scout Day is here

Today in 1912 Girl Scouts were founded! Thus, today is National Girl Scout Day! Some important girl scout mottos are "be prepared" and "do a good turn daily."  It is NOT, as Paprika seems to think, about selling COOKIES!  There are a  lot of things Paprika mis-understands and I am always trying to help her stay in line!
