Quirky Country Songs Celebration - Singing' The Blues

Did you know that today is...celebrating Quirky Country Music Song Titles?

We chose an easy one: "Singin' the Blues" by  Marty Robbins. The lyrics are:

'Cause I never thought that I'd ever lose
Your love dear, why'd you do me this way
Well, I never felt more like cryin' all night
'Cause everything's wrong, there ain't nothin' right
With-out you, you got me singin' the blues.
Now the moon and stars no longer shine
The dream is gone I thought was mine
There's nothin' left for me to do
But cry-why-why over you
Well, I never felt more like runnin' away
But how can I go when I couldn't stay
With-out you, you got me singin' the blues.

What is YOUR favorite country song?

  1. Friends in Low Places
    Garth Brooks

Blame it all on my roots
    I showed up in boots
And ruined your black tie affair
    The last one to know
    The last one to show
    I was the last one
    You thought you'd see there
    And I saw the surprise
And the fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
    And I toasted you
Said, honey, we may be through
But you'll never hear me complain
'Cause I've got friends in low places
    Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
    And I'll be okay
I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places
