Happy Faux Fur Friday 2019

Do you love your cat?  Do you feel lonely for your cat when she he/she is not with you?  Despair not!  On this special day (and all year round) you can be with your cat in spirit by petting your coat,  hat, scarf, and other fine garments (while thinking of your honey cat).  That's IF you celebrate FAUX FUR day by selecting the right garments from your closet. or buying them ahead of time.  The most luxurious, softest and silkiest of all holidays has arrived...FAUX FUR FRIDAY! (The first Friday in December). 



Here is some really cool history about Faux Fur Day:

Faux Fur Friday, observed on the first Friday in December, provides a stylish way to wear and buy faux fur.

Also known as fake fur, the textile made its debut in 1929. Initially made from alpaca wool, faux fur increased in quality as synthetic fibers became available. The fibers not only allowed for more variety and texture, but they also provided warmth. While the neo fur didn’t breath as well as animal fur, nor did it insulate as well, it lasted longer. Animal fur required refrigeration to avoid degrading. 

Whether you call it fake, imitation or simulated, faux fur has found a place in fashion. Designers use it as an accent on clothing. They also create decor and entire ensembles. Faux fur comes in every color imaginable, too. 

HOW TO OBSERVE #FauxFurFriday

Throw a faux fur style show or shop for a faux fur deal. Wrap yourself in a soft, furry throw or poncho. Add some faux fur to a denim jacket or jazz up pillow in your room. Share your faux fur secrets and use #FauxFurFriday to post on social media.

We have a particular attachment to Carol's TIGER hat. Now that might be because we ARE tigers...

 This is one hat that I allow Paprika to share (see below). I am not usually this generous though.

 Paprika here. This is NOT Peaches' tiger hat. It is OURS.  That means it is also mine. My pillow in this case. Peaches better not bother me now.

Each & every toe, I say! If there's anything I'm really good at, it's being limber enough to reach every remote part of my furred self! Apparently Peaches (who, between us, is a bit, um, overweight), has trouble appreciating this talent. I'm ignoring her - Paprika the cat

I've decided to disassociate myself with Paprika. She just does too many weird things like that back toe cleaning. Show off!

"The Birds" and My Displeasure

The highlight of this weekend has been bird-watching. But there were some big black things called "crows" hanging around...they were, um scary.  As you can see, I was very displeased with this experience. As a cat, I am entitled to be displeased, right?  - Peaches the cat

Bird-watching is not always this great experience you hear about!

It came to our attention that a certain human kept staring at us and pointing a flashy box at us.  Aren't we entitled to a little Down Time?

BTW, our human used Lunapic for today's Caturday Art effort - mostly the Escher effect. Just for a restful B & W change! You like?

Peaches & the Fox Blanket

Well, surprise, surprise, I got a new blanket. My human thought it would be fleecy and nice...she did not notice there was a FOX on it. Well I got on this blanket and saw this pair of eyes...WOOW...who are YOU? I asked him.  The fox didn't answer my questions so of course I decided to make a pillow out of his head and go to sleep.  What a weird experience....

So my human told me I looked kinda grouchy in this picture. I ask you, what is the purpose of being a tortie-calico if you can't show TORTITUDE?

Cat World Domination Day

We heard through a VErrrry special source, that today is a day where CATS RULE!  

Actually we thought that was EVERYDAY! We DID get permission from our human to wear crowns and dominate the earth...LITERALLY! Happy Day to all...and remember...
WE are in charge!

Cinco de Mayo we Love

Wishing a very joyous Cinco de Maio Day to all our friends. As for us, we're on our way to get ANOTHER cool drink. Please join us! 

We were torn by indecision over sunglasses vs none. But after taking an official vote, the sunglasses won.

Autumn Attitude & Glamour Poses

Peaches and Paprika, noticing a chill in the air, made use of the newly fallen leaves to  display autumn "attitude" and compete for "most glamorous cat."And then, the news!

Brazen Peaches (left) as usual, stares straight into the camera, upstaging her quieter sister Paprika (right ). 



This process reverses itself when Paprika goes door climbing and reigns supreme!
