Kicking Up Our Heels at the Snooperbowl

We got the cheerleader jobs!  I have to admit we DID get carried away at the Super Bowl this year.  The Kitten Bowl didn't quite satisfy our need for adventure, so we got a better gig:  SNOOPERBOWL CHEERLEADER SUPER-CATS!  We use KNEW we'd find adventure this year at the snooper bowl...a bonanza for cats!  We got so excited we began to rise in the air...

Thanksgiving Practice

We were advised by our creative "human" that we had to assist with Thanksgiving this year! So we lost no time hunting down appropriate gear! Howze this? (graphic by Imikimi tho those are OUR head coverings...)

Happy Caturday to our furrriends.

Our Comments:

Paprika: I DO think Peaches' bonnet is little "over the top" don't you?
Peaches: Paprika is a Gurrrrl so why's she wearing that guy's hat?

We are joining Athena & Marie's Cat-ur-day Art hop today!

National Hairstylists Appreciation Day - Celebrated by Cats!

Hello, Peaches the cat here! We always wanted to be redheads! And on National Hairstylists Appreciation Day, we got to do just that.  Okay, so I settled for strawberry blonde because of my ginger spots and my sister Paprika got to be the over-the-top Redhead...but it's all good!  This is the second year we got to celebrate this fun holiday!  Tomorrow...back to reality....

Mardi Gras - here we come!

Boo! Did you know it was US?  We just love to be incognito for holidays like Mardi Gras and we wish you all a happy celebration wherever you are.  It's dancing and mouse-hunting for us all night and we'll just sneak up on them!
-- Peaches the Cat

And here is my ultra-feminine peacock feather outfit.  I feel I am much more ladylike than Peaches in my finery...what do you think? - Love, Paprika the cat.

We got these fine frames from Imikimi & think they are just purr-fect to celebrate the day, er, night!

Dress Up Your Pet Day - Our crochetted hats

Here I am, "hamming it up" with my favorited crocheted hat on "Dress Up Your Pet Day". I have to admit I've only found one hat I like -- this one.  The way it caresses my ears is delectable!  My sis-fur Paprika (below) is just the opposite.

Good morning, Paprika here! MY idea of celebrating this day and wearing a hat is to Hide UNDER the hat...or hide the hat itself.  A girl has her pride. I refuse to show off like my haughty sis-fur Peaches.

Have fun, everyone with Dress Up Your Pet Day. The idea is to be stylish and have a good time, but never force it! Comfort is all! If your kitty doesn't like your heart's desire costume, you will have to celebrate in other ways!  there are always "virtual costumes" now that we have our computers!  Will your cat be dressing up today, virtually or for real?

PS: This hat was made by the famous "grammy, " mom of my friend Ellen of the the blog, 15 and Meowing.  Mroww!

Preparing for Halloween

There was a rumor this year we may have to wear REAL costumes inspire of the kind our human has been putting on us by computer. Don't know what got into her but  I spied on the window sill a mysterious black hat which didn't belong there!  Our human prepared a little 1 min video of all this...

Here is the final results of our and her efforts!

Paprika

Peaches

Not sure a bout having to wear a HAT...

And then I saw the HAT!

This way I can roll around and be sumptuous and impress my many fans!

Happy National PINK Day!

Are we PINK enough?
We ladies had never heard of "NATIONAL PINK DAY" but when our human told us about it, we couldn't celebrate fast enough!  For today, she used the Painnt Lysergic effect (what a name!) but it worked and we came out a nice sorta pinky color!

There are many ways to celebrate this national day, as not everyone can just "turn pink" the way we did!

You can wear pink things
You can cook with pink (cookies with frosting, anyone?)
Or go to the park and find pink flowers...
Buy pink flowers for your honey...

Have a great pink day!

We are celebrating Caturday Art day today with Athena & Marie & look forward to visiting!

Happy Nurse's Day - Trills & Fur Massages

We are celebrating Nurse's Day and Week - a special time to honor nurse for their helpfulness & kindness in our lives.

We may be nurses at heart because in our medical bags are many tricks which soothe the soul and body.

Paprika's specialty - "THE TRILL" - A musical sound halfway between a PURR and a MEOW..., made with arched back & various rubbings, it mends broken hearts and soothes the soul.

Peaches' specialty: THE FUR MASSAGE (Explained by Peaches)
"So the first thing I do when the human is at rest is a WHISKER KISS combined with a PURR to let her/him know I am ready to take medical action.  NEXT: I place one paw then the other on his or her arm and KNEAD gently, while pushing the arm. After that, I wrap  my self around their arm in a fluffy embrace.  I haven't even mentioned the head butts....After I'm done, the human cannot help but feel better. I really should charge big time for this!"

Quirky Country Music Song Titles Day‪

Hello everyone, Paprika here! There is a fun holiday today called "Quirky Country Music Song Titles Day.  Although our human lives in Connecticut She's from Oklahoma and couldn't resist celebrating the day.  We got to sing some of our favorite "country" songs!

But of course I started singing ONLY to be corrected by my sisfur, Peaches who thinks she's "all that"

Peaches puts in her two cents worth!

Peaches couldn't resist rubbing a little salt into my wounds.

This interchange made me sad and blue, remembering loves lost. But then I remembered my favorite song, "Heartaches by the Number!"

I did lay it on a little thick, remembering another country song I liked:

By now Peaches had about all she could take.

She decided the only way I'd get rid of my blues was to sing a duet with me!  I have to admit, this was a Happy Ending!

Big St. Patrick's Day Preparation

We love looking all dressed up! But Getting ready for St. Patrick's Day is NOT something we look forward to.  Here is how our dress-up event took place in the past!  We were resting peacefully in beautiful baskets when...

We tried to give our opinion!

Did no good, though!

If I go to sleep no one will bother me...

But THEN...

Well, it's all to the good...we THINK! Maybe! This is one of our favorite holidays. And yours too, we hope?

Note: This experience was originally described in March 2016 but we think it's timeless!

Happy TOOTH TUESDAY!

What if you looked up from the dentists' chair to find our your dentists were CATS?

Hee Hee, we were just messing with you cuz today is DENTIST'S DAY!

Yes, there is truly a day dedicated to dentists. You supposed to send your dentist e-cards and floss your teeth and things like that.

We thought we'd try being dentists to see if we could earn some money for cat food...well let you know how it worked out.  Can you tell which of us is which in the picture?
(Hint: Peaches is wearing pink!)

Before signing off, we decided we should show off our pointed fangs since it's a special day. Speaking of which, Happy Tooth Tuesday!

National Tooth Fairy Day - Our Seasonal Gig

National Tooth Fairy Day

This is a cool fun holiday day which comes twice a year on February 28 & August 22. This year we were part of it! Read about the holiday here.
Nevertheless, when I awoke today and found ourselves with WINGS I  was worried!  But no, Paprika had just accepted a
"temporary gig" called "Promotional Tooth Fairy." Twice a year one flies throughout the world to visit children who have lost their baby teeth.  Once we gather all the teeth we take them to a special secret place.   Then we go back to our regular lives.  Sometimes we leave them an extra present... like catnip!  Regular tooth fairies do this daily, we are just hired to promote the holiday!

I did feel quite glamorous though in my blue organdy and Paprika, who became a "certified tooth fairy" last year showed me the ropes.  Can hardly wait till August when we can do it again!

Flying a Pink Cadillac to our Love Shack

Hello, furrriends, did you ever ride in a pink cadillac?  Or drive one?  or FLY one?  I know I know we all hate cars, but if you have a pink cardboard love house you're trying to get to in the tropics, it's a wonderful mode of transportation.

This video made by our tireless human let us do all those things without having to get into a cat carrier!  You can view the high-res version HERE or click on the lower-res RF video above(2 minutes). Or just enjoy the pictures of our adventure. (But the vid is more fun!)

Our Story:

Our human rented this wonderful bird for us called a "pink caddy." Though usually reluctant in regard to big things with wheels, we overcame our normal timidity to give it a try-out!

The Love shack is in the tropics. A long ways from our home in New England. So naturally we dressed for the occasion.

And awAAAy we go!

We're a NATURAL behind the wheel don't you think?

True to its promise, this car DOES fly

Once at our destination we were greeted by the most purrrr-fect house in the whole world

I'm goin' IN!

It's Purr-fect furrr me!

I can see you, can you see me?

Oh NO! I think PAPRIKA is checking out the house!

O Mi COD, Paprika's taken possession!

I MUST get her OUT!
Okay, Come OUTA there, Paprika!
Not budging? I'll huff & puff and...
BLOW the house DOWN!
THERE! That's done!   Roof gone.
Oh NO! Paprika's staying inside anyway without the roof? Come outa there, Paprika, now!

I'm lovin' this house, it's the purr-fect place for a nap, peaches! - signed, Paprika the cat

Now that our big trip has been reported, we are joining Cat on My Head's Sunday Hop AND Athena & Marie's Caturday Art hop & wishing all a wonderful pre-valentine weekend.
