Graffiti Peaches - Cat-Ur-Day Art

I love blue colors in winters and thought you would like to see MY living room.  Our human who mistakenly thinks its HER room did not decorate it to my eclectic taste  ao I thought I'd apply a more artistic touch..  How do you think I did?

You'll see a "quasi-cat" at my side.  That's "Calissandra" my sometimes companion who doesn't do much of anything but looks a lot like me.  I keep her around so I can "lord it over her" like I'm doing in this picture.

Today my human, inspired by Athena, Cat Goddess today, used the Lunatic "Graffiti" effect.  Do you kitties ever help decorate your house?

We're joining Athena's Cat-ur-Day Art Hop today!

Dress Up Your Pet Day - Blue Bonnet Paradise

Hello, Peaches the "dressed up" cat here! We are not big "dress up" cats, but Looove our blue bonnet, which was a gift from Miss Ellen of 15 and Meowing when we first her at a cool cat fair in Massachusetts! We posted these photos in a previous year, but how can we resist sharing the again on such a momentous occasion as Dress Up Your Pet Day!
What I've always liked about this bonnet is it's cool "ear action"

and as you can see it looks just as scrumptious from the side!

The ear action is un-equalled, I tell you!

Now as you can (see (last two pictures) my sis-fur Paprika doesn't "get" the purpose of this item.  She thinks you're supposed to lie on top of it.  Hopeless case!  Now a cautionary word to the world at large! Be sensitive to your kitties' er, "inclinations."  Most do NOT like dress up.  There are always "virtual dress ups" which mom Carol likes to do most of the time.  Or your kitty could lie next to something festive.  What sort of "stuff" does your kitty like on him/her or to lie on top of?

Paprika's Hug Your Cat Day

Paprika the cat here.  I finally got to be the star of "Hug Your Cat Day."  It's about time!  Usually Peaches runs off with these plum gigs and its so unfair. So this very week I CHASED Peaches out of the bedroom, so I could have the human to myself.

You can learn more about National Hug Your Cat Day here! Hug your cat...how hard is that?  I like to dream little during such love fests.

Yay! Am I a good "hugg-ee" or what! It's a very important day to show your love by one or many hugs.  Happy Hug yer cat day to all!

Straw Hat Day

At last! The sun is finally out again in Connecticut...just in time for Straw Hat Day.  But wait!  We don't LIKE the feeling of straw on our tender furs. Nevertheless we try to cooperate with our human when possible. Not that we always do.

National Bird Day

So today is a VERY special holiday cuz it involves those wonderful feathered creatures we just salivate over.

As indoor cats, however, we celebrate by watching them on CAT-TV!

There is always the chance, however, something more could come out of it!

Today we are joining Athena and Marie's Cat-urday Art Hop

National Siamese Cat Day Parade

Happy National Siamese Cat Day to all!  This is the day we celebrate these elegant cats. also known as “Meezers! ” on our Face book page Siamese Cat Celebration. If you have a Siamese Goddess-feline, You are invited to post a photo of YOUR Siamese in the comments on our page. If we have 10 or more there's be a Siamese Parade!  Here's the address: https://www.facebook.com/peachespaprika/

Meanwhile, we would like to introduce FANG, our human's past kitty who at one time was the love of her life.

We hate to think she had another love except US, but we have to accept that our human has "a past."  A long time ago, our human lived in NYC in the Village & that's where Fang lived too. FANG's Dad was pure a Siamese, his mom a tabby.   He had a large family: Chang, Ching, Sin, Ming, Ling, Cling. Fang was VERY clever! His favorite "hiding trick" was to curl up on a plate in the kitchen cupboard and close the cupboard door after him! We opened the cupboard door to set the table for dinner and...aaaaargh!

PS: Fang sometimes looked very fierce if our human paid attention to her other cats when she got home.  He was very loving but also very intense!

Condo Control Day - Cat-ur-day Art

Paprika here! We cats have always had a "thing" about who's in control....WE are, of course!

This holiday was originally started when then-Pres Reagan was shot & recovered, however, we, as cats, have decided to take it over & use it as an occasion to strut our stuff! - Paprika

That Paprika-cat, above, has nothin' over me!  I just climb atop the condo, assume my "Fierce Peaches" look and...well you see the ambiance!

Our human used Painnt-Poster effect to get us looking like this!

We should call it "Condo-Control!" Cuz when we're up in our condos, we, um, well we RULE THE WORLD!    What do YOU cats do to assume control? - Peaches the cat

My new friend Calissandra--by Peaches the Cat

I would like everyone to meet Calissandra my new furrrriend.  Paprika was not available for cuddling one day so my human introduced me to this strange looking creature you see at my side.

At first I was not up for any socialization so I tried to ignore her as you can see!

Then I decided to give her the tried and true "whiff & sniff" test
Lo and behold she smelled like Catnip!  Yum....
I decided Calissandra was the gal for me!  She never tries to upstage me like Paprika does either.
Looks like me, smells like catnip..how could we go wrong!  I turned her upside down and gave her little hug, a little squeeze...
And then I assumed my usual position of choice!
Nothing like a little nap with a new friend...

Happy Tummy Tuesday and Way-Out Wednesday to all!

Peach Blossom Day featuring Peaches the cat

There was a heated debate in our household, because it is Peach Blossom Day!  Yet it feels like the middle of winter.  Peaches immediately wanted to celebrate, while I objected. Not fair!  Why isn't there a Paprika-Blossom Day?  I have to admit though...Peaches DOES make a awesome blossom queen, and the flowers do remind us of warmer days ahead.  Read all about this cool holiday HERE and may we send hopes of sweeter weather to come!

Meowijuana & More...Our Secret Paws

Pardon the glazed look in my eye but you know how we felines get when Catnip, Festive Friday, Secret Paws Day and MEOWIJUANA (first time we heard of it)  all come at the same time!

We got our Secret Paws box from esteemed fellow blogger, AS THE WORLD PURRS and thanks to their thoughtful gifts, had a wonderful afternoon.

Before we post any more pictures, though, we would like to show you the slideshow we created so you can see a lot in a short time!

We hope you enjoyed the show and if you prefer still pix  here are a few stills.

The box we received was fragrance filled and, to our joy, had a special little card, just for US!

More & More gifts kept appearing...here I am sniffing my favorite dental treats
and there's all sorts of things here, such as a blue stocking with MICE!

THE HO HO TENT
There was a Ho HO Tent which was one of our favorites though of
course there were territorial issues...!

THE BLUE MICE:
And then...we found move than 8 blue mice all stuffed into a catnip stocking!  Zowee~

Paprika lost no time relating to the mice...

Suddenly I got that glazed look...you know what I mean!
and then I knew I was a goner...CATNIPPED by the best of them!

It could definitely have been that MEOWIUANA that the "As The World Purrs" sent.  Thank you again for our wonderful gifts and for introducing us to "new goodies!"

Happy Christmas Card Day

Good Morning, Peaches the cat here! Today is official  Christmas Card Day  The way to celebrate it is obvious! But a little history first...did you know the first Christmas cards were sent in London & commissioned by Sir Henry Cole? But we digress!
Since we haven't received many cards yet, having just missed the Xmas card exchange, we decided to celebrate  by fond memories of last years cards. I can't begin to tell you the our fun re-arranging all the cards!

I found the cards mesmerizing, and moved to my cat condo where I had a better view!

A sudden urge came over me...

I then heard a soft meow
in the distance offering assistance...

Paprika seemed pretty sure of herself
Well let me tell you...I could hardly wait for the action!
Then Paprika arrived and showed me how it's done..gracefully!

Paprika managed to walk through all the cards while leaving them in place.  If it was me I would have knocked them all over. I was so impressed!

Watching her delicate steps required extreme concentration however, and I soon found a better occupation!

Well, if you managed to get his far into our Christmas  card foragings, we congratulate you and wish you and yours a wonderful December.

We're joining Cat On My Head's Sunday hop too!
