Paprika's outrageous behavior with dinner guests

Am I. Paprika, a floozy?  I think not, but everybody is talking about me, so now I'm not sure.  At my owner's request, I am TURNING MY BATON over to her for a description of last weeks' dinner and what I am accused of! -- Paprika the Cat

From Mom Carol:  

Okay, surprises happen but Paprika is usually a shy cat. Especially with visitors.  Apparently her shy side did NOT apply to her outrageous behavior with my dinner guests last week.

"No I will not FEED you!"

My Friend Donna and her boyfriend Tim were my dinner guests last week for my birthday.  So the three of us are enjoying a shrimp stir fry. Tim's on my left.  He's a DOG person not particularly into kitties.  Doesn't "get" them. So when he felt F-U-R rubbing across his shin he jumped to the conclusion his dinner shrimp was being coveted.  "No I WILL not feed you!" I heard him suddenly say sternly.  With amusement I realized he was talking to Paprika.

"You cannot Have Any...and that's THAT"

Paprika has little food interest in food, especially human food. She won't even take a bite out of my tuna can.  I seriously doubted she had any interest in Tim's stir fry.  Yet a moment later I heard more conversations.  "I SAID you cannot have any and that's THAT."  Apparently Paprika had not given up. "No, you Cannot..NO!"  Bemused, we all listened to Tim's conversation.

"No I Will NOT Bend Down and DO That"

Whaaaat?  "No I will NOT bend down and do that" we heard him say.  I could not resist.  Wondering what it WAS he "would not do" I jumped up from my meal & went around to Tim's side of the table to see what was going ON down there.

Paprika In Love

To my astonishment, my FORMERLY shy cat lay SPRAWLED on her back ON Tim's foot, poking up her little orange tummy in his direction.  Her legs were askew, her front paws reached up & she was eyeing him beseechingly.  At the dinner table!  On her back!  It was obviously she had fallen in love & was hoping for some action!!!!

Like a total idiot, I interrupted my dinner and...

Tim, my clueless dinner guest clung to the theory she wanted a shrimp.  I knew better.  so that Tim could finish his dinner in peace, I feeling like a total idiot, crawled toward her to alleviate the situation so that she would NOT be deprived of her obvious tummy rub request.  But I was feeling stupider by the moment as I massaged her orange tummy.  My girlfriend Donna was in hysterics.  But Paprika purred happily and looked at me with a cunning not previously seen in this cat.

"Oh I didn't know she wanted THAT"

"I didn't know she wanted THAT" said innocent Tim.  Though I was not as shocked as the others, I WAS surprised at my shy Paprika transforming into a shameless hussy at the unaccustomed sight of a male dinner guest.  And he didn't even like cats!

"Paprika, you FLOOZY!"

"I didn't know you were such a little floozy" I said to her later.  She looked at me with an inscrutable expression...

These cats with whom we share our home...you  never know about them!

Good morning, Peaches here.  My sis-fur Paprika seems to have fur-gotten its also TUMMY TUESDAY! O mi COD, Paprika, will you never learn to get all these holidays straight?  

It is time not only to show off the beautiful pink blanket our human got us, but also our tummy and toes.  Sheesh!

but our human had other thoughts...she felt this other creature should be honored...gosh it's bad enough to share with each other but this threesome is a bit much!

Hot dogs anyone? Okay, so it can be an imaginary picnic.  But today IS both International Picnic Day AND Tummy Tuesday! A day to have a hot dog, kick up our heels and show a little tummy, all at the same time.  Paprika is a wet blanket sometimes, insisting on cheeseburgers and hamburgers instead. Happy Picnic Day AND Tummy Tuesday!

There is definitely a difference of opinion here between sis-furs Peaches & Paprika as to who should rule on Tummy Tuesday!

The matter remains unresolved! Calico sisters can be pretty strong-minded. But Paprika has some great moves & is definitely giving Peaches a run for her money (er, catnip)

Since our human has been busy creating slideshows this week, I Paprika got inspired decided to join my sisfur Peaches in a photo adventure. Remember her photo lesson a while back?  I did a better job than Peaches, right?

 The green enhances my green eyed personality.   If I could only learn the art of hiding my privates...but I'm told that's a human thing and doesn't matter for cats.

These Boots were made for Napping!

Carol's pink, orange & green BOOTS: Every respectable cat needs a good pillow, I always say. What most cats don't get is a pillow consisting of their human's multi-colored BOOTS! Yes, our human, Carol, loves music and dancing and one day she left these boots out and, well, I'm NOT returning them! Move over, Paprika!! (She's taking up too much space, as usual!)

Drama Queen Peaches

Peaches Story:   My human did NOT pay enough attention to me over the holidays.  Therefore,I surprised her when she entered the den by exhibiting THIS pose! Ta Da!

Carol the human's story:  
When I entered the den, I was amazed to see Peaches in THIS dramatic position, just waiting for my reaction. Unfortunately, no camera in hand!  HOLD IT! I cried urgently. Obligingly, Peaches stayed in this exact position while I got the camera.  She is a true "drama queen!"

Sweet Memories from the Holidays

My sisfur, Paprika is all about serious New Year's resolutions, whereas  I am holding on to sweet holiday memories...our red & white house, MY red  & white blankie..catnip...catnip...catnip...Okay so it's not Tummy Tuesday, but I am having a, um, "readjustment" period after the holidays!  My human says "get over it!" How callous...don't you think?

I decided to take a break from our nap to send love & say hello. Pay no attention to that lazy cat beside me (Peaches).  NO wonder she's so chunky, sleeping all the time!  My human thought I was being immodest and decided to give me a "heart" but I don't agree! "Au Naturel' is always MY motto!  Have a lovely Tuesday!

Back from the Vets!

Well we are back from our annual vet visit and even though the vet and her staff were very nice to us, we cannot recommend it as a "fun" experience, such as bird-watching or climbing on doors.  

Here we are, in our carriers, wondering what the next 5 minutes will bring!

Dr Battison is checking out my tummy while her compassionate assistant Kelsey holds me tight. As you can see I'm cooperating fully! - Paprika

Next, I, Peaches,got an eye exam as part of our annual!

I have lovely eyes. I did great, as always!  I was given an "A"!

 I didn't do quite as well on the tooth exam and only got a B-. I was told: dental rinse...or else!

My human was carefully instructed on the art of giving me a "dental rinse."  We'll just see about THAT!

Then came another part of the exam...

Hey I wasn't counting on THIS, folks!

Last but not least....our nail clippings.  We didn't enjoy this unnecessary  routine all and had NO FUN! Do we LOOK like we're having fun???? Lookit Paprika she's making a half hearted attempt to escape. Lots of luck with that, Paprika!

AT last!  We are home again and can stretch and um, "relax" in our normal positions!

There's nothing like a tummy rub, we always say, WHEN we're in the mood for it, of course! Our human has been accommodating our wishes lately and we persuaded her to share these photos so you can admire our very different undersides!

I, Peaches, confess that what I most adore are chest rubs under my two front arms.  Wow! Here I am, hoping for one!

I, Paprika prefer the "traditional"!  Many have admired my surprising marked orange and black tummy patterns and I lose no opportunity to show them off!
